Privacy policy

This page describes what CameraRigSetup.com collects and what it does not. The short version: we run standard web analytics, we use affiliate links, and if you give us an email address we use it to send you what you asked for and nothing else.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which are not. That service sets cookies and collects information including approximate location, device type, browser, referring site and the pages visited. It is aggregate and statistical, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the browser add-on Google provides at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and Google describes how it handles data in its own policy at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Calculators

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your rig weight, your codec, your battery load and your lens choices are computed on your own device and are never transmitted anywhere. There is no account, no login and no saved profile.

Affiliate links

Outbound product links carry an affiliate tag, which lets the retailer attribute a purchase to this site. Following one of those links means the retailer may set its own cookies and collect information according to its own privacy policy, which we do not control and which applies once you leave this site.

Email

If you submit your email address through a form on this site, it is used to send you the build lists or the material you asked for. It is stored in a spreadsheet and, if you subscribe to updates, in an email platform. It is not sold and it is not shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately. If you want your address removed entirely rather than unsubscribed, ask through the contact page and it will be deleted.

Cookies

Cookies on this site come from two sources: the analytics service described above, and the retailers you visit through affiliate links. This site does not set its own tracking cookies, does not run behavioural advertising and does not build a profile of you.

Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time. Doing so will not affect anything on this site, since none of the content depends on them.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
